SPAM and Virus Filter

SPAM & Virus Filter

SPAM and Junk e-mail are more than just an annoyance...
SPAM and the people who send it (spammers) are now a global security concern. Their main interests are not in stealing credit card numbers or ripping off unsuspecting Internet "newbies", though they certainly take great pleasure in those activities. They are smart and well-funded. The biggest spammers are now paid by terrorist organizations to wreak havoc on our information systems and disrupt the flow of commerce. They reside for the most part in Russia and the Middle East and have made public announcements that they will attempt to shutdown on-line banking and e-commerce sites. In the past year there have been many documented cases where they have targeted and brought down some very large corporations and web hosting facilities. It is a multi-billion dollar drain on our productivity every year.

How to stop it and protect your network...
Therefore we are now providing a service that will scrub your email for SPAM and junk email. They maintain the world’s largest array of email servers processing billions of emails a day - and 90% of them are spam. The award-winning service is called Postini and we have a relationship with them for premium support, allowing us to efficiently and cost-effectively configure and maintain the service for you. The service costs $2.50 per month per mailbox. Configuration will be billed at our standard hourly rate.

Here is how it works....
All of your email will be sent to an array of servers on the Internet where it will be checked for SPAM and junk mail. All blatant SPAM will be discarded. Suspect messages will be held on the Internet server. Only emails identified as non-SPAM will be sent to your server. This keeps the SPAM off of your server, thereby improving server performance and keeping your Internet connection and network faster because they are less congested with junk mail and SPAM.

Personalized Individual Settings....
Each user will be able to manage their individual SPAM settings through a web interface to their SPAM folder on the Internet. Some users may want the filter set very strict and tight, whereas others can leave it more open.

Added Benefits....
If your Internet connection at the office goes down or your email server is offline for any reason (i.e. scheduled maintenance and upgrades), they will store all emails and forward them when the connection comes back up. Therefore anyone who sends emails during that period when your email server is unavailable will not get an "undeliverable" message back. The email will be held and delivered to your server as soon as the connection and/or server come back up. This is a huge benefit in terms of fault-tolerance. And if your Internet connection or mail server at the office is down for an extended period of time due to a serious problem, we can set you up to access your new emails at their server via the web. There is an additional fee for this, but it is very cost-effective.
