How it Works:

Our Business Continuity Service consists of a device that is installed next to your server, backing up all your data every 15 minutes for 2 days. It then stores daily backups for 2 weeks, weekly backups for a month, and monthly backups for a year. That means we can quickly and remotely restore your environment to any of those backup snapshots, without searching for tapes. We can do file-by-file restores or we can restore your entire server, if need be.

Then, once a night, all your data is securely backed up to a secure data center in Maryland. All data that is sent off-site is securely encrypted, keeping it safe and accessible to only you and us.

All of your data is then replicated to a second data center on the West Coast.

That is how the backup works - Totally tapeless, requires no maintenance by you or your staff, and the restores are very quick.

The best feature, though, is the Disaster Recovery. In the event that your server becomes unusable, we can make your server seamlessly available to all your users INSIDE the BDR device. In a short time, usually less than an hour, all your users will be back on the server accessing their data, but doing so on the BDR. This virtualization technology allows them to continue to work, EVEN IF YOUR SERVER IS COMPLETELY DOWN. When we tested this feature in early 2009, we immediately bought 2 BDR's for our environment.

AND - if you were to lose your entire facility - servers, BDR and all - we could have a duplicate, with the previous night's back-up , shipped overnight from Maryland to any location of your choice. And after it is delivered, within a few hours, your server and data will be fully operational within the BDR. Think of it, you lose everything at your site, and your server and data is available within a day or so, while we are working to procure a new server and facility.
