Our Business Continuity Service consists of a device that is installed local on your network. It uses state-of-the-art technology to back up all your servers and mission critical computers as complete images onto the device, not the old-fashioned file-by-file method. Backup snapshots can be taken several times a day and kept using a retention policy we configure based on your needs. That means we can quickly and remotely restore your environment from any of the backup snapshots directly from the device, without searching for tapes. We can do file-by-file restores or we can restore your entire server, if need be. .

Then, once a night, all your data is securely transferred to a secure data center over 500 miles away. All data that is kept onsite and transferred off-site is securely encrypted, keeping it safe and accessible to only you and us. Certifications (SSAE 16, AICPA, SOC) are available on request.

That is how the backup works – No swapping of tapes or cheap, unreliable removable hard drives. It is totally tapeless and requires no maintenance or intervention by you or your staff. And the restores are quicker than any other method you ever used.

The best feature, though, is the Disaster Recovery. In the event that any of your servers becomes unusable, we can make your server seamlessly available to all your users INSIDE the BDR device. In a short time, usually less than 2 hours, all your users will be back on that server accessing their data, but doing so on the BDR. This virtualization technology allows them to continue to work, EVEN IF YOUR SERVER IS COMPLETELY DOWN.

AND – if you were to lose your entire facility - servers, BDR and all - we could have a duplicate BDR, with the latest off-site backups, shipped overnight to any location of your choice. Ater it is delivered, within a few hours, your servers and data will be fully operational within the BDR. Think of it, you lose everything at your site, and your server and data is available within a day or so, while we are working to procure a new servers and facility.

To recap –

No more tapes. No more tape drives. No more storing of tapes. No more possibility of losing the tapes, or worse, having them stolen. No fumbling for the right tape during a restore operation. Keep in mind also that Gartner research shows that up to 40% of restores from tape DO NOT WORK.

No user intervention or maintenance.  We monitor the backups every day. Your people are more productive doing what they should be doing - working in your business, not changing tapes or managing backups.

File-by-file or complete data restores can be done remotely and quickly.

In the event the server goes down, your server can be fully operational and made available to your users inside the BDR, using the advanced virtualization technology that is built in to the device.

AND, in the event that you lose your entire facility, including the BDR, an exact replica can be made available to use to access your data until a new server and facility can be procured.

We have been using these devices to protect our data since 2009. And we have several success stories a year whereby a client was able to continue operations during a server failure, while we worked to replace or remediate the server failure.
